Skandium (21Sc) yang terbentuk secara alami hanya terdiri dari satu isotop stabil, 45Sc; oleh karena itu, skandium adalah unsur monoisotop dan mononuklida. Dua puluh lima radioisotop telah dikarakterisasi, dengan yang paling stabil adalah 46Sc dengan waktu paruh 83,8 hari, 47Sc dengan waktu paruh 3,35 hari, 48Sc dengan waktu paruh 43,7 jam, dan 44Sc dengan waktu paruh. dari 3,97 jam. Semua isotop yang tersisa memiliki waktu paruh kurang dari empat jam, dan sebagian besar memiliki waktu paruh kurang dari dua menit, yang paling tidak stabil adalah 39Sc yang tidak terikat proton dengan waktu paruh lebih pendek dari 300 nanodetik. Unsur ini juga memiliki 13 keadaan meta dengan yang paling stabil adalah 44m2Sc (t1/2 58,6 jam).

Isotop skandium berkisar dalam berat atom dari 38 u (36Sc) hingga 62 u (62Sc). Mode peluruhan utama pada massa yang lebih rendah dari satu-satunya isotop stabil, 45Sc, adalah beta-plus atau penangkapan elektron, dan mode utama pada massa di atasnya adalah beta-minus. Produk peluruhan utama dari isotop dengan berat atom di bawah 45Sc adalah isotop kalsium dan untuk yang lebih tinggi adalah isotop titanium.
