Francis Crick
Francis Harry Compton Crick () adalah ahli biologi Inggris. Pada tahun 1949 Francis mendapatkan Ph.D. di Universitas Cambridge.
Pada awal 1950-an bersama dengan James Dewey Watson dia menemukan subtansi bentuk dari dari DNA. Atas penemuannya ia memperoleh Penghargaan Nobel dalam Fisiologi atau Kedokteran bersama Watson dan M.H.F. Wilkins.
Francis Crick adalah ahli biologi molekuler teoretis utama yang memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam memahami struktur heliks DNA. Dia juga terkenal karena menciptakan istilah “dogma sentral”, yang merangkum prinsip bahwa informasi mengalir dari asam nukleat (DNA atau RNA) ke protein dan tidak dapat berbalik kembali ke asam nukleat. Konsep ini menyoroti sifat ireversibel dari langkah terakhir dalam transfer informasi genetik.
